Ммм... Наверно, оригинал виноват... Ну не нравится мне Manowar, кавер тоже не нравится...

мне ни оригинал, ни данный альбус Мановара не нравятся, хотя Мановар очень люблю, но кавер....!
Для меня - это один из лучших каверов всех времен, лучший альбом любимой группы!
Каждая песня, интро, аутро, все-все, супер, почти цельный час бескрайнего удовольствия (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Ну, ябсказал, оба шедевральны, но, определенно по-разному.
Если этот добротный, пусть и с зачатками мелодичности, характерного шведского ДМ,
то Кримсон, он одна бескрайняя баллада, с, на то время, практически непостижимыми
приемами и ходами. Признаюсь, в момент выхода не понял, но к новому году, т.е. уже 96-97
у нас вся туса, в том числе и под него колбасилась. Не ну и тот, и этот. Моща эти edge of sanity, что и говорить!

Годнючий шведодэтх, концентрированный, при этом напичканный максимальным количеством всяких околоинтеллектуальных приблуд в аранжировках и перманентным желанием уйти в сторону, без которого EoS не были бы собой. Есть агрессия, есть достаточно выразительные мелодии, есть атмосфера. Вообще, конечно, альбом - глыба, за пятьдесят минут группа обрушивает на слушателя лавину идей, которые еще надо потом как-то переварить. Субъективно, любимая пластинка.

Кавер на Manowar одиозен, если это шутка, то я вот ее не понимаю, т.к. остальной материал предельно серьезен и таким ему стоило бы оставаться в течение всей пластинки. Но, из песни слов не выкинешь - и Edge of Sanity, и собрание их сочинений вошли в историю мирового Death Metal.

Свано, как мне видится, сыграл тут на противоположностях. С одной стороны - основной материал, в целом мрачный и тяжелый, как и подобает быть death metal. И в пику ему - кавер на Manowar (если конкретно о нем, то он - нормальный, но вот так чтобы прям писаться кипятком - не тянет) и готическая Sacrified (при первом прослушивании, еще тогда, думал, что это еще одна кавер-версия). Потом внутри собственного death metal-содержимого тоже разделение между скоростными, прямолинейными и пиляще-жужжащими номерами (ну, вот Waiting to Die, Darkday или Feedin' the Charlatan) и усложненными и мелодически развернутыми темами Across the Fields of Forever или The Masque. И все эти металлоконструкции заключить между интереснейшими интро и аутро. Короче, получилось с успехом подать записанный материал, и сделать еще один преотличнейший альбом.
