Я давно забросил doom metal, не слежу за новинками и появлением редких вещей наподобие этой. Если что и доведётся послушать, то сравниваю с эталонным Paradise Belongs To You, к которому так и не смог охладеть и в общем-то воспринимаю медленную печальную музыку однобоко после определённых событий. Так что полностью переварить Memorial To Suffering я, конечно, не смог, увы. Но, клянусь, не будь я столь чувствителен, поставил бы эту штуку на пьедестал рядом с дебютником Saturnus и In The Fields Of Pestilent Grief. Ценители дума от таких вещей бывают в восторге и наверное я понимаю почему.

My sentence: 11 / 12 with function "opened mind" ON and "too depressive for me" mark with working mental disorder security system*. Заглавная композиция красивая, зараза!

Слушать советы из думовой голосовалки стоило хотя бы ради этого альбома. Отличная вещь.
P.S. Судя по Архивам, эти питерцы просуществовали всего 4 года. А жаль.

Какую же музыку должна играть группа с названием «Болезненные воспоминания»? Правильно, олдскульный традиционный дет-дум под стать погоде в городе музыкантов, Санкт-Петербурге - промозглой и дождливой.
Название альбома – «Мемориал страданиям», видимо символизирует огромный камень, изображенный на обложке.

В «Memorial To Suffering» герой описывает боль и крах своих надежд, потерю смысла в жизни и полное опустошение.

В «Why?» он сам себе задает вопрос: почему люди должны терпеть бесконечное однообразие, суету и тщеславие, безжалостное время все эти попытки выделиться, что-то поменять в жизни сведет к нулю. Не лучше ли все прекратить в одно мгновенье?

Видимо, страдания героя так и завершились, поскольку в «In My Tomb», самой депрессивной песне альбома, герой понимает, что в могиле ничего нет, кроме пустоты и тлена.

В «The Weeping Of Unborn Children» рассказывается о нерожденных детях и каре, которая неименуемо постигнет их убийц. Жутко инфернально и мрачно.

«Rover Of Sin» - это мольба к Богу искупить грехи, просьба услышать и понять перед уходом в горящую бездну страдания.

И наконец, заключительная «No one remains» полна понимания и осознания, что не осталось никого и ничего рядом, лишь бесконечное как космос одиночество.

Жесткий, холодный, ультрасуровый альбом. Питерцы взяли ориентацию на My Dying Bride и Anathema середины 90-х годов, то есть расцвета британской дет-дум сцены, что неудивительно.
