Данный топик посвящен командам, играющим так называемый "Necro Death Metal" - отдельная ветка дэта, в которой развивается тема смерти (не политики или сатанизма, социума или мифологии) со своими характерными чертами - дэт-метал в его первозданных формах – без мелодики, без дэт-н-ролла, без техничных компонентов. Их саунд истинно олдскулен – предельно сырой, грязно-подвальный, первобытно-кровожадный с пещерно-могильной зомби-тематикой. Данное направление характеризуется нарочито грязным олдовым саундом, достаточно примитивной структурой музыки, часто хриплым сухим вокалом, в большинстве своем черно-белыми облогами с изображением зомби, гробов и прочей могильной атрибутики. В общем, музыка, от которой веет кладбищем и тленом... Данный музон был на подъеме в начале 90-х годов (90-93 гг.) и сейчас, в последние несколько лет. Основные поставщики такой музыки в настоящее время - США, Латинская Америка.
В общем - классический, верный традициям олдскул, каким он был во времена своего зарождения!

Doom metal? One of the guys behind 'Mabuse' is heavily into doom metal? Is this latest instalment some kind of compensation, then? Mabuse, commonly associated with the literary figure of a super villain created by the Luxembourgian writer Norbert Jacques, seems to be a proper choice for the music, because what else than some noisy, sickish, raw and at times furious thrash death could be associated with the terror such a villain can or is expected unleash upon society?

The vibe of the music is generally that of the old-school branch, while the rather subpar production adds a certain underground nuance to it all. It should be of no surprise to see the guitars dominating the tracks, while the drums as well as the vocals suffer from this at times. Even though the song-writing offers nothing too spectacular in any kind of way, the voices – it is unclear whether both members are involved in this part over the entire course of the demo – with their (at times hysterical) screams add a nice touch to the overall performance.

References are rather obvious: very old Sepultura, Possessed and the like … nothing modern, nothing nice, nothing too polished.

Если и это недостаточно сыро - можно попробовать найти что-нибудь с последних страниц этой темы - тотальное подвальное мракобесие, предельно сырое, безобразно-уродливое творчество музыкантов, воспевающих мрак и разложение.
Если начать составлять топы, то туда заведомо попадут раскрученные известные команды с тщательно отработанной, выверенной сыростью саунда. Ты их и так уже 100 раз слышал. Но настоящее безумство творят не они...

Блин, чувак ваще конкретно написАл! Со многими вопросами после его разъяснений - реально разобраться!

CASTLEUMBRA is a new project of Antimo, the Mexican jack-of-all-trades who should be well known from bands such as DEMONIZED, HACAVITZ, PROFANATOR, BLOOD REAPING, DOMAIN, DISGORGE, RAVAGER and some more. I'm into a few of his projects but CASTLEUMBRA is definitely his best work so far. This is dark bestial Death Metal at its best. Damn it, this is so fuckin' brilliant, I'm totally blown away by the intensity of this recording. I always have said that the Chtulhu mythos is more than suitable for dark and brutal Death Metal and CASTLEBRUMBRA is here to proof my thesis. The combination of over the top obscure and brutal compositions with haunted demonic vocals combined with a Lovecraftian lyrical theme resulted in an utterly dark, sinister and twisted mood. "Cthulu Wgah'nal Fntagn" contains two short atmospheric intros / instrumentals and three unholy compositions of varied brutal old fashioned Death Metal with a wide range of speed, obscurity and brutality. The band knows how to blast, how to produce heaviness by slowing down and how to create gloomy and blasphemous hymns. And this is what Death Metal is all about, isn't it? CASTLEUMBRA absolutely does not sound like a Mexican band, this is Death Metal like it was played in Finland 20 years ago. There are reminiscences of DEMILICH, ABHORRENCE and DEMIGOD, especially the weird guitar leads and harmonies reminds me now and then of mighty DEMILICH. But also fans of US bands such as FUNEBRARUM (they definitely share the same sources of inspiration), DISMA and the likes should check out those Mexicans. Doubtlessly this is one of the best debut releases I've ever listened to. All hails to Nuclear Winter Records for releasing this mighty monument of obscure Death Metal supremacy!!! Can't wait for future releases from those Mexican beasts. I'm sure their full-length will kill. "Cthulu Wgah'nal Fntagn" is a must have for any self respected Death Metal lover and Cthulhu worshipper. "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!"
