Фанатам в первом попавшемся бревне видеть возвращение к корням посоветовал бы обратить взор на этот альбом. Ещё раз. Тут отсылки к (если считать его детищем тех CoF, конечно) Midian существуют не то что в виде "вот тут нота "До" икнула прямо как в "The Raping of Faith" (знаю, что на альбоме нет этой песни, не поправляйте), но даже в виде целых песен. И если "The Abhorrent" похожа на больше по духу, нежели по форме (до конца не реализованная ярость этой песни выжала из меня чуть ли не ведро адреналина впервые со времён "Gilded Cunt"), то "Illicitus" на Midian могла могла оказаться почти целиком, и никто бы не заметил подвоха. Ну, разве только с точки зрения качества, ибо даже "Lord Abortion" размазала бы её по бетону. А "Succumb to This" ещё раз напоминает, что панкушный рисунок ударных, наподобие "Summer Dying Fast", весьма широко использовался и до "Right Wing of the Garden Tryptich" (напоминаю про "The Promise of Fever" (тут выстук шустрее, правда), "Dirge Inferno" - тысячи их!).

Да, ещё раз скажу, что клавишные и тому подобное здесь впервые со времён Пауэлла звучат не как полное говно.

Но этот альбом запоминающийся.
