ну вот, теперь это, кажется, уже воздух, а не океан... все очень легко и невесомо... невероятно разнообразно... может, нет такой прямолинейной качевости как раньше, вместо этого вариативность построения композиций, новые мелодии, которых не было раньше... повторюсь, бескрайние пространства мелодизма, не океанного, а воздушного...

первое впечатление...

По-моему, у них Panopticon самый лучший. Хотя Isis такая группа, что у них любой альбом, что ни возьми, — шедевр. Насчет этого релиза вообще никаких опасений нет.

Так-с. Ну, пройдемся по первому впечатлению (я еще не до конца послушал, но это неважно. У меня нет серьезных оснований полагать, что технически музыка к концу альбома изменится, а творческий компонент я оценивать не собираюсь пока. Для этого нужно еще раз пять Wavering Radiant прогнать). Впечатление говорит мне, что музыка стала гораздо легче даже по сравнению с In the Absence of Truth, хотя он сам по себе высот в данном отношении не брал. Ну да, в принципе-то не изменилось на самом деле ничего (ну или несильно), но эффект такой достигается. За счет, в первую очередь, регулярного дерганья акустики и толстых таких вставок неопознанного инструмента (клавишные, конечно). Сладжевые риффы отправили в, гитары чего-то там на заднем плане наяривают, жанр группы становится на дрезину и со свистом уносится в сторону пост-чего-то там. Здесь когда-то был отросток хардкора, но теперь он исчез навсегда. Вокала стало больше. Раньше, бывало, Тернер скажет\прогроулит пару слов и молчит минуты две. А сейчас почти не затыкается, аж бас не слышно. Даже не знаю, хорошо или плохо. Хорошо, наверное, голос-то есть у него. Ну и что касается остального, то где-то там выше правильно сказали: воздух, да, облака там всякие, эмпиреи. Хотя это все было в Panopticon (там вообще было все, что может быть в музыке). Ну и ладно.
Из всего вышенаписанного может сложиться ощущение, что альбом мне не понравился. Это не так. Я вообще не представляю, как Isis может не нравиться, это нонсенс какой-то. Как раз напротив. Все отлично, как и должно было быть. Ну и, опять же, оценку, пожалуй, рано выносить, но я все-таки оценю. Хотя и крайне относительно.
4,5/5.
А полбалла забрал потому что я жутко объективный.
