Сейчас переслушал. На данный момент он у меня в фаворитах. Не совсем стандартный дет. Если я это слушал с 90-х годов, то наверно знал бы с чего начинается и чем кончается альбом. По музыке тут сплав стилей. техничныйДет, техничныйтреш, прогрессив, Джаз? не знаю.

Я, чессгря, лет десять назад вообще весь свой Атеист распродал. И тут случайно наткнулся вкаке на этот кусок времени. И чего то меня так пропердолило хорошенько, что взял его на фирме. Надо другие тоже переслушать. С группой знаком с самой зари 90-х. Но особо часто не слушал их и не фанател.

Получается, напару с Ноктюрнусами самый первый техно-дэт - отличнейший и с доброй долей безумия. Правда далеко не без трэша - конкретно здесь знатоки могут расслышать отголоски Beneath The Remains Сепультуры. Но в принципе у кого из американских дэтстеров в тот период трэша не было. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

Для себя, когда первый раз услышал альбом, сразу выделил Room With A View и No Truth - для того времени это было, если так можно сказать, новое слово в дэт-металических аранжировках.

Although "Piece of Time" was recorded and completed in 1988, it faced multiple delays until its release in 1990, due to label politics. The album was planned for release in 1989, but the label that Atheist was initially signed to at the time (Mean Machine Records) went bankrupt, so the band had to search for another label, until Active Records signed them and released "Piece of Time" in early 1990. However, it took six months for the album to be released in the United States, when Metal Blade Records finally arranged a licensing deal with Active and released it in the United States in November 1990, roughly two years after the album's completion.

Вчера, такой, сидел, думал - что же мне послушать?... В итоге захотелось Клаптик Времени. Провёл незабываемый временной отрезок с одним из самых лучших альбомов смерть-метала. Альбом интересен от и до. Задумки и техничность музыкантов не превалируют над напором и агрессией, а, лишь удачно украшают этот шквал, не скажу, что, злобы - но, некой рассерженности и взбудораженности.
Атеисты безбожно валят на этом альбоме, принуждая свалить нафиг всех тех, кто не понимает, как скрещивать дет-метал и свой развитый интеллект.
Барабанщик шикарен. Басист великолепен. Гитары понимают это, и, дополняют ритм-секцию не менее замечательной работой. И никаких соплей.
Шедевр.

Первый технодэт ever. Был сочинён и записан ещё в первой половине 1989-го, но из-за издан только в январе 90-го из-за политики лейбла (впрочем, Дискогс утверждают, что есть виниловый тест-пресс от 28 июля 1989-го и промо-кассета). По-большему счету, сам death metal, как жанр, находился в эту пору ещё в зачаточном состоянии, а Atheist уже практиковали его интеллектуальную версию. Естественно, с лошадиной долей трэша.

Философская обложка и шум прибоя в начале альбома совершенно не располагают слушателя к тому безумию, которое вот-вот начнётся. А это именно безумие. Забудьте всё, что вы знали про интеллегентный и выверенный техно-прог дэт с разнообразными эстетизмами: ребята на этом альбоме не играют, они НАВАЛИВАЮТ. Совершенно безбашенная, дико напористая и в то же время приджазовано-непредсказуемая, ритм-секция в исполнении Роджера Паттерсона (R.I.P.) и Стива Флинна несётся на всех парах, выколачивая из слушателя всю дурь. По-большему счету, за интеллектуальную составляющую этого альбома отвечает именно она. Гитары уже вторят ей, играя характерные для той эпохи риффы на стыке трэша и дэта (то и дело проскакивает Slayer), а также довольно обособленные от основной музыкальной линии соло-запилы, то отстранённые, то шизофренические. Вся эта дичь (в хорошем смысле) увенчана хищным вокалом Кэлли Шафера, в котором пропал талант рэпера (иначе я не могу объяснить то, как он на огромной скорости выплёвывает довольно многословные предложения). 32 минуты рубилова проносятся на одном дыхании, и только заключительная космическая No Truth (артворку, на мой вкус, лучше всего соответствует именно она) даёт немного перевести дух.

11/12. Великолепный альбом, однозначно представляющий не только историческую, но и художественную ценность. Хотя, пожалуй, правильнее будет сказать не "художественную", а "энергетическую". Ибо эта работа - одна из лучших для пробуждения организма.

P.S. На CD слушать ремастер, ибо оригинал тихий и довольно грязный.

Начинаю тосковать по временам, когда альбомы укладывали в формат до 45 мин. Кажется, что сейчас эта временнАя вседозволеннось не всегда, и не всем идет на пользу) Краткось, как говорится, сестра...

А на каком именно отрезке первого трека (в секундах желательно)? Продолжительного у меня точно нет (я бы заметил), а на какой-то очень короткий я мог внимания и не обратить.
