In April of 1999, Abe Spear left to pursue a career in photography in New York. Upon leaving, Willie Adler, Chris's brother, quickly joined. That same month, they changed their name to Lamb of God. The name change was a result of the band members thinking the old name was too immature, and it was taking them in the wrong direction as far as fans were concerned.

During the BTP years, and before, Chris Adler and his brother Willie Adler had their own band named El Tigre, Chris Adler had also a one man recording project going called EvilDeathInc.
