Melancholy death-doom masters SWALLOW THE SUN bring us a bold, adventurous and characteristically dark triple full-length album entitled "Songs from the North I, II & III", which will be released on November 13, 2015 via Century Media Records!

"Songs from the North I" continues in the vein of the albums before it - first-rate death-doom in the typical style of SWALLOW THE SUN.

"Songs from the North II" is a beautiful, acoustic foray representing the group's ability to unplug and revel in the darkness.

"Songs from the North III" is the most extreme album, a complete ride into SWALLOW THE SUN's most horrific abyss of finely-crafted, conscience-crushing funeral doom

"Songs from the North I, II & III" will be available as Special Edition 3CD Box containing 3 Digipaks and a booklet, Ltd. Deluxe Edition 5LP+3CD Box with each album in a gatefold sleeve & as digital album.

Main songwriter and guitarist Juha Raivio comments on the triple album concept: "Making a triple album in this godforsaken digital and modern day and age...Many will say it's madness. Могу сказать, что группа, с одной стороны, облегчилась, но с другой - малость повзрослела. Более того - идет не только в ногу со временем, но и в правильном направлении. Альбом сложный и многогранный, фоном заходит не очень - надо слушать внимательно.
Второй диск вообще волшебный! Лучший в жанре в этом году.
Фьюнеральный акт как-то не зашел. Наверное, потому что я не люблю фьюнерал.

Разочарован...На первом диске зацепил единственный трек, №7, вторая часть - скучна и не выразительна, за исключением пары-тройки неплохих треков....в общем, потеряли они что-то..пожалуй, музыкальность

Прослушал только первый диск пока. Не впечатлило. Какие-то фрагменты попадаются стоящие, но не более того, разве что трек номер 7 более-менее. Завтра послушаю второй и третий диск. Вся надежда на третий, потому как акустики от них выдающейся не жду.

Не впечатлился.
Первый диск как-то фоном прошёл, кроме 8-го трека, который напомнил Draconian в их лучшие годы, ничего и не запомнилось; второй диск вообще унылость, а до 3-го уши не дошли.

Про первый диск сказал, остальные:

II: "Womb of Winter" просто чудесна, благодаря ей затеплилась надежда, но потом пошла полная Анафема, вперемежку с последней акустической Кататонией. Клавишные у группы всегда были хорошим активом и тому есть масса примеров, но в акустику они не смогут, запиши хоть 20 подобных альбомов. Да и ещё и чистый вокал Котамяки никуда не годится своей безэмоциональностью. А ведь мог когда-то, на "Giant", например, да и на первом альбоме хорошо пел.

III: Третий диск тоже не бог весть что, но хотя бы настроение какое-то есть, атмосферность, песни на куски не разваливаются, как в первой части. По-прежнему особо хороши места с клавишными, так называемые "затишья". Фьюнерал тут, конечно, не хоронит и даже не собирается, но в нынешнем состоянии группы и такое - праздник.

Короче, с трёх дисков три просто нормальные песни. Если раньше они умудрялись размазывать своё УГ по одному диску, то теперь мазнули вширь и в глубину аж на три. В общем:

Приятный сюрприз.В том числе и то,что убрали Melodic,который добавлял хаос в стройный Doom Death Metal.Первая часть,Довольно посредственно.Вторую часть,они явно отыграли для своих подружек.Ну а третья - просто шедевр.Удалил вторую и в коллекцию.

По результату нескольких прослушиваний все таки омрачилось мнение. Второй диск своей анафемообразностью вообще проходняк. Хотя он сразу мне не нравился, ни идея, ни реализация в итоге. Третий - так себе, дум и дум. Так что право быть в коллекции отстаивает теперь первый диск - он все таки чем-то цепляет, но еще не окончательно закрепился в моем сердце (IMG:style_emoticons/default/25.gif)
