Релиз занял вторую позицию в хит-параде Великобритании, уступив первое место The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Многие считают «Are You Experienced» самым успешным дебютником в рок-музыке. В 2003 году телеканал VH1 поставил «Are You Experienced» на пятое место в списке величайших альбомов всех времён.

На мой взгляд - самый тяжелый из всех записанных Хендриксом альбомов.

Оригинальный альбом был издан на CD на фирме Polydor (кат.номер P20P 22001). Реестр:

В целом альбом - однозначно выдающийся, впервые показавший, что гитара может быть лидирующим (во всех смыслах) инструментом, открывший в большой свет дорогу тяжелому року и психоделии.
Из представленых на данном издании неискушенному слушателю должны быть в первую очередь интересны Foxy Lady, Manic Depression, Love or Confusion, 3rd Stone from the Sun, являющиеся золотой классикой рока, слывущие яркими примерами сплава блюза, психоделии, тяжелого рока.
Любопытный факт: при записи альбома Хендрикс впервые попробовал петь (Hey Joe), ранее предпочитая лишь играть на гитаре.
