The band is named after the last song on Godflesh's last studio album "Hymns". Jesu was a one man band with the first EP "Heartache" featuring Justin playing and programming everything. Jesu became a full band by the self titled release. Justin Broadrick has played as a guest member of Sunn O) on their 2006 European tour.
