"Avernus Emissary is a stealth EP dropped almost immediately after Vølus's last full length record "Oathsworn Vengeance" - The EP spans 11 minutes and only 4 songs. This EP is straight to the point and a return to the earlier material of in your face blackened death metal. The dissonance doesn't over stay it's welcome with guttural laden sections swamped in black metal goodness and almost Archgoat-esque drumming. Blasts are used sparingly and shows the dynamics of the solo project. If anyone likes Psionic Madness, Out of the Mouth of Graves or Maggot Crown - Justin's other bands they will be at home with this EP."
