Все логично: если ты ожидаешь от Skyclad трэша (много) со скрипками (их чтобы мало), то надо смело нести этот альбом на помойку. Потому как трэш тут рудиментарно, а все основное пространство занимает прог-метал (тут, чувствую, скоро будут бить за этот тэг), довольно круто замешаный на фолковых делах. У меня вообще просится аналогия с Jethro Tull периода начала 70-х, ну или альбома Rock Island, только порой создаётся впечатление, что слово "рок" скайкладу слабо знакомо, и их метал вырос "сам по себе". В любом случае, знаковая работа, одна из линейки сильнейших альбомов группы. Причём, если честно, большим объем скрипичных партий не кажется, скорее их тут в "самую плепорцию", а главное, что они несут значительную музыкально-смысловую нагрузку, создавая этакий срез жизни народного "дна", всяких там старьевщиков, лихих людей да продажных девок. Нет здесь особого веселья, все злость да безнадега. Проходняка нет совсем, лучшие - тройка Schadenfreude, A near Life Experience, the wickedest Man, и a Word to the Wise,
напоминающая вокальными выкрутасами Питера Габриэля с Genesis.
