Additional notes:
Carcass is considered to be the major inspiration and musical foundation for most deathgrind/goregrind bands, as well as being one of the founding fathers of melodic death metal when they had switched their genre to the melodic death metal sound by the early '90s.

Carcass started as a goregrind band which they carried out on their demo tapes, and first two albums, then moved to a death metal sound which evolved into their melodic death and heavy metal roots before their split. Their Heartwork album, released in 1993, is one of the first melodic death metal albums ever released.

Bill Steer moved into the stoner rock band Firebird (not to be confused with the 1978 NWOBHM band Firebird), Mike focused on his retro band Spiritual Beggars before forming a side-project with his brother Chris called Arch Enemy which went on to become very successful. Jeff, Ken and Carlo formed the short-lived Blackstar after the demise of Carcass.

At the age of 28, Ken Owen had a brain hemorrhage and was in a coma for almost a year. He was confined to a wheelchair for a time, but has since partially recovered and despite heavily confined movement has began playing drums again.

Carcass reunited in 2007 for touring purposes. Despite Ken Owen starting to play drums again, he is still unable to perform to the level required for Carcass. Daniel Erlandsson of Arch Enemy replaced him for touring purposes. Despite this, Owen has been involved in the reunited band's activities and makes brief appearances at selected live shows.

Amott and Erlandsson both left Carcass in 2012 when the reunion became a full-time one in order to avoid scheduling conflicts with Arch Enemy.

A UK edition of Bjork's Isobel single has a version of the song "remixed" by Carcass (in fact, it was just the vocals to the original song mixed over an entirely new piece of music).

Jeff Walker appears on the release The Final Remixes by Die Krupps with a cover version of their track Inside Out.

The track 'Captive Bolt Pistol' from Surgical Steel was featured in a 2014 episode of the American CBS television show Elementary.

1. Die In Pain (2:46)
2. Exodus-Power From Hell-Diamonds And Rust (5:33) (каверы Exodus/Onslaught/S.O.D.)
3. Thrashers Abattoir (3:03)
Вопщем я думаю что это не фейк, группа то образовалась в 85м какраз. Так вот, заливать такой раритетище? Ну вопрос конечно риторической (IMG:style_emoticons/default/15.gif)

группа образовалось в 1982м, в 85м переименовалась из Disattak в Carcass. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/11.gif)

Первый их альбом, который услышал был Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious. Сказать что был в восторге, значит ничего не сказать. Наверно в году 97-м услышал. Потом были первые два. А когда услышал Heartwork были смешанные чувства, с одной стороны забористый драйв, с другой излишняя мелодичность и низкий темп, но в общем приятных эмоций было больше. А какой клип на заглавную песню, ляпота.
Ну и конечно - Swansong, после которого я поставил на группе крест, и перестал за ней следить. Лишь намного позже я узнал причину распада, страшную болезнь барабанщика и т.д. К новому альбому на основе хирургической стали отношусь толерантно(!), но когда хочется всегда берусь за Некротисизм, иначе никак.
Послесловие:
На мой взгляд гитарные риффы на Necroticism посложнее будут нежели на Heartwork.

Тоже позднее творчество больше котирую, там хоть музыка мелодична и читаема. Вообще грайнд как таковой лучше всего идёт в смесях с высокой мелодичностью, как, например, у Акеркок. А просто долбильня и ор - ненужно.

Знакомство с группой начал с Symphonies of Sickness и Necroticism - Descanting the Insalubrious в самом начале 90-х. От Symphonies... у меня челюсть просто грохнулась о пол, настолько это было восхитительно. Necroticism... также полюбил с первого раза, но со временем немного приелся, в отличие от Symphonies.., который до сих пор является любимым альбомом Carcass, переслушиваю его регулярно и часто. Затем также в начале 90-х ознакомился с Reek of Putrefaction и он мне не особо понравился. Раскусил я его гораздо позже, в первой половине нулевых и моя челюсть оказалась на полу во второй раз. Genital Grinder, Pyosisified (Rotten to the Gore) - отмороженные хиты, остальные 20 композиций не менее вкусны. Таким образом, к 93-ему году я был искушен в отношении Carcass, они являлись одной из моих любимых групп, с нетерпением ждал их нового альбома и по его выходу остался с двояким впечатлением. Heartwork был восхитителен, цепанул с первого раза, я чувствовал его недюжинный потенциал, но это был уже не Carcass. Спустя несколько лет двойственность ушла и я принял его таким какой он есть, в отличие от явно вымученных Swansong и Surgical Steel. Последние два просто игнорирую, так как это просто жалкая тень былого величия.
