This is the 3rd album of french doom / death metal band Inborn Suffering.

Inborn Suffering first formed in Paris back in 2002 and over the course of the following eight years they established themselves as masters of doom, spinning tragic tales across foundations of colossal riffs and ethereal melody. They performed alongside fellow overlords of the doom/death underground like Swallow The Sun, Saturnus and Mourning Beloveth and produced two critically acclaimed albums - Wordless Hope and Regression To Nothingness - before stepping away from the scene in 2012. It would be eleven years before Inborn Suffering began to stir again, but when the flame of creativity was alight once more, the new music began to flow.

Pale Grey Monochrome is a stunning collection of songs that preserves the mournful, reflective soul of Inborn Suffering, but somehow reaches new heights of melodic beauty and plunges to new depths of absolute desolation and despair. Set for release on February 7th 2025, Pale Grey Monochrome will capture the hearts of the doomed and the damned, all devotees of the most sombre and introspective sounds.

Полноценное возвращение одних из самых ярких представителей думдэта современности, как по мне. Таких альбомов совсем немного (по уровню последний такой был от Ophis в 21г..) и 13 лет ожидания окупаются произведением, которого, думаю также хватит надолго.
При этом Inborn Suffering, сохранив состав и оставшись собой на все 100, несколько изменился: общий настрой сместился от гнетущей думовой мглы в сторону тянущей печали и в целом добавилось некой чуть более светлой сентиментальности. Сравниваю я опять жеж с Плитой 2012г. Где то проскочил чистый вокал и акустика ... Вобщем общее впечатление более светлое (хех) и не такое густое как от Regression to Nothingness. будто щепотку Сатурнуса в их отчаивающую мглу подкинули.. Но мне нравится всё больше с каждым заходом.

Честно - Показалось что где то к концу альбом будто проседает, но тут достаточно годноты которая единолично перевешивает многое выходящее последнее время. Один From Lowering Tides сразу расставляет точки над i. А мб ещё не прохавал те фрагменты

Вобщем, первое впечатление - соответствующее планке группы, те очень и очень хорошее. Теперь - переварить и проверка временем, благо вернуться под настроение к нему точно придётся не раз.

Напомнило не только Ocean of Grief, но и In Loving Memory (этих даже сильнее), - такой насыщенный, плотный и закрученный дум, мне, как ни странно, по душе. Но ковыряться надо, конечно, усердно.

Очевидно, что уточнение было связано с тем что настроение которое в жанре (одно из) можно считать нормой - как раз можно назвать "унылостью" и в этом смысле ничего плохого в ней нет.

Группа хорошая, но этот альбом сильно проигрывает первым двум, особенно шедевральному дебютнику. Много раз его переслушал и .... это скорее фоновая музыка. Здесь нет таких сильных эмоций и трагедии как было раньше. Записано все хорошо и толково, но содержание музыки - не тот компот. Увы, ждал гораздо большего.

Альбом слушательный, но не более того. Пауза в творчестве пошла скорее в минус. Группа растеряла свою ауру и магию, которая особенно ярко прослеживалась на дебютном диске. Просто хороший и средний альбом, не более того. Покупать в коллекцию точно не буду.
