State Dependent Memory is Unmother’s second album. We wanted to reflect the isolation a large metropolis can impose on you, at times torturing and at times redeeming. This was our effort to capture the feeling of being lost inside a vast, busy, and suffocating urban landscape.

State Dependent Memory, the new full-length from London-based black metal project Unmother, releases February 20. Conveying today's dystopic reality through a mix of atmospheric and experimental elements paired with traditional bm, the follow-up to 2021 debut Lay Down the Sun sees the band channeling that urban disillusionment sonically into a genre normally reserved for nature worship, making this a unique foray into themes relevant to us all.
