Eternal Darkness started in the summer of the year 1990 under the name of Necropsy.

Fun fact: Most of the band members past and present are of the Sweden Finn group. As the name suggests, these are ethnic Finns living within the borders of Sweden.

In August 1992, they recorded an album, to be called Twilight in the Wilderness, for release by Necropolis Records, but it was never put out. It included the songs "Downfall," "Psychopath," "Despair," "Twilight in the Wilderness," "That Day Will Come," "A Pleasant Surprise," "Beyond the Eternity," and "The Island (Of Fear).
