Пожалуй, это самый блэкушный релиз группы со времён Born of the Flickering: трэшевых риффов не видать, зато много скоростных блэковых тремоло, бластбиты стали быстрее и их стало существенно больше, и даже гитарным звук стал немного сырым. И да, Old Man's Child тут снова можно назвать группой, ибо альбом снова записывался полноценным составом (драммеров было даже два, каждый сыграл на своих четырёх треках), причем партнёром по гитарному дуэту снова стал Jardar. Впрочем, материал был сочинён Галдером полностью в одиночку (за исключением текстов). В связи с повышением скорости и агрессивности музыки влияние неоклассицизма в мелодике уменьшилось. В результате именно здесь мы впервые услышали тут самую лид-гитару, которая впоследствии станет одной из визитных карточек Dimmu Borgir. Из треков особо выделю красивейшую Hominis Nocturna и тёмную и злую In Black Endless Void, но хороши все 8.

10/12, отличный альбом, Галдер не стоит на месте.
