По моему, здесь не хватает такой темы. К тому же, не могу не поделиться долгожданной новостью о своих любимцах, у которых 21 мая выходит новый альбом!

HEAVEN SHALL BURN are a phenomenon. Instead of roaming distant shores in order to seek for innovations the five-piece from Saalfeld/Weimar, Germany is rather heading for well known territories in order to shed their collective skin. For years they have been drawing creative impulses from the long-term friendship between the individual members. Despite releasing new studio albums regularly they are hardly ever in a real hurry. “We take our time to finalize our songs and don’t record them before we feel that they are ready”, explains Alexander Dietz.

For “Invictus“ [the full title of which is “Invictus” (Iconoclast III)]HEAVEN SHALL BURN returned to Tue Madsen’s Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark. Again, the album was produced by the two guitarists Maik Weichert and Alexander Dietz. “Never change a winning team” turned out to be the best and most effective option to record their albums instead of burning budgets by trying out different people every time. Maik explains: “Tue Maden knows and understands our sound. For us it is easier to improve and develop our sound further when we are working with someone we know. Otherwise it would mean getting adjusted to someone new every time we record an album which doesn’t feel right to us.” By using Ólafur Arnalds for the atmospheric intro and outro they held on to another trademark of their sound. “To work new elements into our typical sound was definitely a challenge for us”, says Alexander. “The Lie You Bleed For” and especially “Combat” show them heavily flirting with electronica. Still, those shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody once recalling “Against All Lies” and “Muderer Of All Murderers”. However, “Given In Death” proves that their heavy sound leaves room for changes and innovations, as a highly emotional duet of Marcus Bischoff and Sabine Weniger from Deadlock is not exactly what you would have expected from HEAVEN SHALL BURN. Still, no fan who is into their heavy and majestic riffs that are influenced by Scandinavian metal will be disappointed and can indulge themselves in songs such as “Buried In Forgotten Grounds” or “Return To Sanity”. “Combat” even shows some frosty black metal references. “In Aarhus we were snowed in twice - that might explain the black metal influences”, smiles Maik.

“Invictus” is the 3rd part of the “Iconoclast”-story after “Iconoclast” (21 in the German Media Control Charts) and their DVD “Bildersturm” (German DVD Charts 3, album charts 54, Austrian DVD Charts 9). Again stories about unconventional heroes are being told, a different light is cast upon well known idols and legends.

Meshuggah guitarist Fredrik Thordendal recently began recording material for his second album (the first as Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects in 1997). The effort will likely be available later this year.
Among those contributing to the album is Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren, who has issued the followed regarding his participation:
"What a dream come true! Fredrik has been very supportive of my career for many years in many ways, and I respect him immensely both as a musician and songwriter. It was huge for Scarve to be asked to open for Meshuggah and we've been in touch ever since. When Fredrik asked me to be a part of the second Special Defects record, I just couldn't believe it! Now that I have the Soilwork album under my belt, it's exciting to dive into a completely different challenge where my drum parts will be based on improvisation more than anything else."

After The Burial are aiming for a November 23rd release date through Sumerian for their new album ”In Dreams”

Blabbermouth reports that Periphery are currently working on an EP, which is almost finished, and on material for their next full-length album. Guitarist and songwriter Misha 'Bulb' Mansoor said:

"I am also really happy to announce that Periphery is well into the writing process for our upcoming EP. We have tracked most of the instrumentation and vocals and are making final tweaks on everything but you guys are in for a treat. There will be some re-tweaked material, some rare material and some brand new material on it so there will be something for everyone.

We have also been working on material for our second full-length now, so that we can have as much time to refine it before we record the final product. Our goal with our music is to cover as much ground as possible while staying true to our sound, and hopefully evolve from previous work all at once. It's a tall order but a fun challenge nonetheless, and we are doing our best to ensure that the new material will fulfill that goal."

By Night report on their Myspace page that they have received the final mix for their upcoming full-length album. They hope to be able to upoad a teaser soon. No details about the album have been revealed yet. By Night's previous album, 'A New Shape of Desperation', was released by Lifeforce Records in 2006.

Как сообщает Corpus Christi Caller Times, молодой пастор Jason Houlihan и его друг David Pallotti ввели формат металкор-службы в Объединенной Методистской церкви Святого Джона в Корпус-Кристи (штат Техас), предложив представить иную точку зрения на сцене, где каждый может почувствовать себя желанным гостем.

Thy Kingdom Come — это название службы и группы, которая исполняет христианский металкор (смесь хэви-металлической музыки и христианской лирики), каждое воскресенье в Объединенной Методистской церкви Святого Джона.

21-летний Palotti сказал следующее: «Мы выступали на множестве христианских металлических концертах и видели тех людей, которые не ходили в церковь, потому что их осуждали. Такой церковь быть не должна».

С момента начала металлической службы прошло уже три года, и это смогло привлечь молодых людей в возрасте от 16-ти до 26-ти лет. Houlihan заявил: «Это был способ связи с людьми, которые бы не пришли в церковь иным путём». Он предлагает каждому с любыми жизненными проблемами прийти и поговорить. «Мы просто обсудим это. Niclas Mьller-Hansen со шведского портала Metalshrine взял интервью у Matt’а Heafy из TRIVIUM. Выдержки из разговора приведены ниже.

Вы на гастролях уже продолжительное время, у вас уже есть новый материал, сочиняете ли вы риффы для следующего альбома?

Heafy: У нас уже есть девять почти готовых песен, мы провели предварительную работу над ними, записав их на ноутбуке нашего басиста, и они звучат лучше нашей первой записи. Paolo [Gregoletto] хорош в записи подобной хрени. Там программированные ударные, но они спрограммированы так же, как и басовые партии, сделанные Paolo как основные ударные партии, а Nick [Augusto, ударные] посидит над ними и перезапишет их на компьютере. Мы записали гитарные и басовые партии и в ближайшее время запишем вокал, мы записали соло, и у меня есть название альбома, его оформление и названия песен. У нас получилось примерно 15 песен, но у нас есть кое-какие планы на этот счёт. Идеи о видео, фото, всё. Но мы пока не можем обо всём рассказать.

Что касается продюсирования, следующий альбом в этом плане будет таким же, как и предыдущий?

Heafy: Мы точно не знаем. У нас есть план, но мы не можем его раскрыть. Пока рано говорить, но в очередной раз всё будет по-другому. Новый материал звучит потрясающе, и я знаю, что все группы говорят подобное, но да, он действительно отличный. Дело в том, что все мы уже хорошо над ним поработали, и мы знаем, что получилось нечто особенное.

Хорошо. У тебя когда-нибудь наступал творческий кризис?

Heafy: В рамках TRIVIUM — да, да. К счастью, нам не нужно задумываться о времени сочинения материала. Мы не должны сочинять материал для нового альбома, но раз уж появляется вдохновение, мы решили, что нам стоит этим воспользоваться. Всякий раз, когда мы вынуждены сочинять, я чувствую что-то вроде: «Да, я не могу сочинять». Но если я не обязан сочинять, я сочиняю хороший материал.

It is with immeasurable sadness that we share news of the passing of our sister and best friend Trish Doan. Finding the right words is tough. She was so bright and vibrant and talented and we loved her and still do. She was so much more than just a musician or member of the band. She was our blood, our sister and family.
