Soulblazer was the name of a roleplayinggame on the Super Nintendo over a decade ago, in which a young lad was set forth on a quest to safe his fantasy-world from a great evil. Soulblaze (without an 'r') on the other hand, is a power metalband that released its first record on Underground Symphony. The band plays archetypical Italian power metal that reminds slightly of the first three Helloween-albums, from an age when Kai Hansen was still the king of melodic metal. A genuine Italian falsetto and excellent guitar-leads make Soulblaze a band that sounds both reliable as familiar. In that respect Soulblaze doesn't sound different from most groups on Underground Symphony and its Spanish counterpart, Arise Records: trustworthy, but at the same time predictable. Those familiar with the Swedish groups Dragonland and Supreme Majesty will feel instantly at home with this band.
