Songs from Iced Earth's first two albums with Matt Barlow on vocals. There are
also songs from the Enter the Realm demo and from their first trip into a studio
with reworked bass and drum parts. The tracks from Burnt Offerings are
remastered, except for "Dante's Inferno" which is completely remixed. "Burnt
Offerings" also has a different intro than the original version.
"Cast In Stone" is "Written On the Walls" from the self-titled album with new
lyrics written by Matt Barlow. This was done to avoid royalty issues with Gene
Adam, who wrote the original lyrics.
A single-disc version has also been released which omits "Life And Death,"
"Before the Vision," the Burnt Offerings songs.
Purgatory (the demonic woman on the album cover) is a character from Chaos
Comics, who worked out an advertising deal with Century Media.
