About Ice Vinland:
The band Ice Vinland was born in June 1997. All its members are from the Quebec City region and all have at least 12 years of pertinent musical experience.
The style adopted by this quintet is, of course,true metal,
The originality of Ice Vinland comes principally from Vanguardian lyrics of the guitar synthesizer, the atmospheric keyboard, the disconcerting rhythms of electric guitars, heavy and unexpected and versatile voices.
Stories overshadowing key subsects, very contemporary and also very historical, such as the fears of the new millenium, the orphaned children of the Duplessis era, the discovery of North America by the early vikings, all of wich reflect their own philosophy of Creation and of the Holy Bible.
THE VIKINGS...
The idea of this album "Vinland Saga" and the group's name is in relation to the Vikings who landed on our soil, about 1000 years ago and who settled New-Foundland, in l'Anse aux Meadows, more precisely. These same Vikings and their leader, Leif Erickson, discovered and traveled the St-Lawrence Valley, where they grew abundant orchards. They called this region "Vinland". There in lies the sources of the name of our group; which is representative of the Quebec City region.
