Ծես meaning "Ritual", is an eclectic curation of tracks ranging from lo-fi atmospheric black metal to black thrash and speed metal. 60 minutes of exclusive music not previously published. All contemporary active projects with the exception of the Battalion song recorded over 25 years ago in Lebanon.
A testament of unity, but also of blood and wisdom from an ancient civilization. From the freezing winds of Ararat, to the ominous spiritual grandeur of Khor Vishap, to the imposing, monumental natural splendour of Lake Sevan, or the rich tapestries of colours as shown in Parajanov's everlasting movies, Armenia is a testament to perseverance and strength of millenial civilizations, and to this ancient glories but also to a history ripe from anguish, these artists sing.
A terrific compendium of blackened music, ranging from the more experimental and matured sound of the experienced modern classic that is Odz Manouk, and similarities present in Mtnshagh, to the ancient, arid Black/Thrash/Death incantations of Dzhokhk or Battalion, to the freezing Blazebirth Hall-ish hymn of Vox Clamantis or the primeval, to the brute geological force of Vishap's Black/Doom and plenty in between; this released definitely shows a thriving scene hidden in the underground.
