Colonize is the second full length album from MoldEra. All the sounds have been composed by the entire mold crew mixing classic stoner doom riffs with progressive “post-metal-like” essences (influenced by Sleep, Yob, Earth, Isis or King Buffalo) and 90’s grunge classics vibes (Alice in Chains, Deftones, etc).
The lyrics have been written by Florian Zanatta (the singer) and are talking about different topics like: industrialized human predation and exploitation of nature, land degradation, critique of the techno-optimist future forecasted by the military-industrial, media and entertainment networks, but also social unrest and uprising, self-awareness and the resilience of life thriving in the ruins of late capitalism giving hopes for another future for humans and non-humans.
The album was live recorded in early May 2024 and mixed in the summer, at the Koko Studio (Sprimont, Liège, Belgium). It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Laurent Eyen who also recorded It it Anita, Pestifer, Gros Coeur or La Jungle albums and is known to be part of live sound engineering for bands like It it Anita and Birds In Row.
