It's in May 1999 that Julien (vocals), Aurélien (guitar), Olivier (guitar), Sylvain (bass) and Seb (drums), decide to form a band under the name of Wenlock. Since the beginning, the band composes its own titles strongly influenced by Iron Maiden, and records its first demo 5 months later with Axel (from Carnival In Coal). The incoming of Max in August 2000 will put an end to the formation of the band : Wenlock will now have 3 guitarists ! Since then, the band starts series of concerts, each time successful. In 2001, Furtive Records contacts the band to record a first album in co-production. In 2002 the album is finally ready and is called « Welcome to the Wenlock world ». Unfortunately, the label must close its doors even before the album can be released. From 2002 to now, after some changes in the line-up (Seb leaves the band just after the recording of Welcome… and is replaced by Denis) the band changes its artistic orientation toward a more dark and aggressive music, keeping Heavy bases (a mix between Maiden and Devin Townsend). At the end of 2004, the band releases its new demo « Technology / Death / Love », very well welcomed by the critic and goes on making itself a name in the French scene.
