We are Scaphist, formed in 2008 influenced by cultures of antiquity and feeble human nature
perform black/death metal in conjuration of man's violent yet rich past. In the ancient
kingdoms and civilizations of what is now Iran, the seeds of what was to become our first
laws of fundamental human rights were planted. The Persian Ruler Cyrus scribed the Cylinder of Cyrus,
dubbed the 'first declaration of human rights'. In the same region lies history of utmost
savagery and unspeakable torture. Mans history is of great accomplishment yet also of unthinkable malice.

The bands name and Persian influence comes from an ancient Persian method of execution where the
condemned was tied to a boat, smeared with milk and honey and forced to consume milk and honey
to induce chronic diarrhea. They then proceeded to die from any of the following: Blood loss,
starvation, septic shock, heat stroke or dehydration.
