Their Draining You of Life demo was one of the most sought-after underground tapes. After the recording of "Ignorance" for Metal Massacre VIII, the band was signed to Metal Blade and became the first thrash band in the label's history to be offered distribution through Capitol Records.
Sacred Reich were broken up from 2000 to 2006. They continued to exist (as a touring group). In 2018, they signed to Metal Blade Records and announced plans to release a new album around the beginning of 2019.
According to the book of Jarek Szubrycht (Lux Occulta) "Bez litosci. Prawdziwa historia zespo³u Slayer", Greg Hall was asked to play drums in Slayer after Tony Scaglione left the band in January 1987. This never happened because Lombardo had already returned to the band.
