About Dragonheart
Dragonheart are a four-piece Power Metal band hailing from Brazil. They formed in 1997 with the line up of Marco Caporasso and Eduardo Marques both performing guitars and vocals, Mauricio Taborda doing bass and vocals, and Marcelo Caporasso on drums. The next year their demo "Gods of Ice" was released. The demo contained an epic style of Power Metal with heavy influences from classic metal and medieval music. The demo got the attention of Megahard Records and all of it's songs later appeared on the band's debut album Underdark.
Two years later, the band (Now signed to HTR Records) released their album "Throne of the Alliance". The album, while much in the same style as their first album, featured better production, tighter instrumentation and more consistent songs than it's predecessor and gained positive reviews in the press. The album was the first of a trilogy of albums based on the story of two fictional kingdoms. A year later, the album was re-released by the band's new label Hellion Records, a label well known for it's incredibly large metal store in Germany, with a cover of the Gravedigger song "Rebellion (The Clans Are Marching)".
Not longer after this, guitarist/vocalist Eduardo Marques left the band to join Cromathia. His replacement was André Mendes. With this line up they recorded their 2005 album Vengeance In Black. The second in the trilogy, the album feature a very different sound from the band's previous albums, with more of a classic/speed metal sound, taking heavy influences from German bands such as Running Wild and Grave Digger. The album gained high reviews in the metal community, once cited as "a gem worth uncovering".
Currently, the band remain with the same line up and are currently working on there new album, set for release in 2008(?).
