Гениальная и,к сожалению,уже несуществующая банда в лицах Инфериса и ныне покойного Сармака!
Самобытная,атмосферная,черная,злая и,в тоже время,по-своему меланхоличная музыка!
Что думаете господа по поводу данной формации? Интересна также лирика(даже темку подобную создавали) и всякого рода интересные факты,хотя понимаю,что команда относительно молодой была,потому не успела обрости "сплетнями и баснями".

не, вот каверы отвратительные, для меня. в целом замечательная группа. Вечная память Сармаку.

Сильно инспирированная Мунблад группа, некоторые вещи воистину гениальные. Эмоциональные, в лучшем значении этого слова. Кто имеет уши - услышит (саунд по рамкам даже прошлого века "слабый", без пост-обработки), это творчество для одиноких волков.
Не устраивает идейная сторона коллектива (и других групп, которые составляют некое подобие иннер сиркла).

Сорри,когда говорил,учитывал именно "вещи" с полноформатников,"Кукушка" с трибьюта вообще вылетела из головы)

Саунд отрешенный,сырой,"завуалированный" в какой-то степени,в минусы я никак не могу это отнести! Вылизав бы качество до уровня многих шведских "мастодонтов" мы бы получили совершенно не те близкие и по-своему родные эмоциии,чувства,которые мы испытываем до сих-пор благодаря труду двум,поистине незурядным и гениальным личностям! Идея? Хм...что я могу сказать,тексты не читал,агрессии в музыке как таковой нет,но сама музыка многогранна: холодная,замкнутая,обозленно-отрешенная,грустная и меланхоличная...Качества можно перечислять бесконечное кол-во раз,но стоит ли? Каждый,прослушавший сам все поймет и прочувствует("Кто умеет уши - услышит"!).

Кто говорил об минусах?
Ударник явно вторичен в творческом плане. Стучит себе в ряде проектов, замена драм-машине.
Идеи языческого плана + nocturnal funeral forest, under the cold fullmoon etc (стандартно, см. Мунблад). "Lunar Reflection Of The Nightly Solitude In Melancholical Apathy And Despair". о как!
Кстате, тут вышел недавно суперпаршивый еп-шник. Группа мертва, релизы идут. RARE KVLT UNRLSD FKN OFFICIAL STUFF BUY OR DIE!!

Если ты имеешь ввиду Сагатал,то согласен,мне релиз самому показался странноватым. Думаю им они завершили общую канву,хотя фиг его знает,вдруг,в загашнике,Инферис еще что-то "припас" на будущее...)

Interviews with Inferis (Lycanthropy's Spell)

1-TH - Hail Inferis! Could you give the readers of THOR'S HAMMER a short introduction to LYCANTHROPY'S SPELL SARMAK and yourself?

Hails!
Lycanthropy’s Spell, it was Sarmaks Idea, it began in vein of 90’s Black Metal, but soon after a few albums Sarmaks style began to change into something he writes from his own mind instead of trying to be being a clone band. He approached me in late 2003 with 1 song he recorded with a drum machine, Transylvanian Hunger by Darkthrone. He explained the style he was going for – cold and aggressive but with harmonic tones…So we recorded a few tracks and that became Chaos, Death and Horror released by Sheol Productions (Germany) (later changed names to Darkmare and Sol Niger). Later released by Intolerance Records in Canada with the bonus track of Werewolf by Absurd featuring M. (Later to join Rabe) on vocals. Lycanthropy’s Spell in the early days was definitely a German underground band, despite us not living in Germany, all of our early material was released in Germany, and that’s where our main fan base came from, and still remains.

2-TH - You're also a part of RABE, SARMAK, FUNERAL FOREST, TALEISIN and others! Could you tell us a bit about these bands?

Funeral Forest for me is old styled aggressive Black Metal with barbarian themes. For me, because I’ve gone off on all these slower styles, Funeral Forest is the main aggressive Black Metal project for me. With Vargarth from France on lead vocals who has been in the Black Metal scene for 15 years now. Recently we have a new guitarist join to replace Cadavre on guitar, he is from Woodsmarch in Brazil, his name is M. Vag. He has a great guitar style and we are working on the new album with him.
Rabe was a side project of me and Sarmak with M. on vocals, I never spoke with him because when I recorded the drums I then lost contact for a while. We often done this, when we would record we was never in person. But as Lycanthropy’s Spell became slower and darker we needed to outlet that aggressive hard Black Metal we still loved. Lycanthropy’s Spell became something new and Rabe was our outlet for that older style we liked.

Sarmak, self titled after himself, which was his own project where he didn’t want anyone like me telling him how it should be. It’s also the first time he used an instrument in the music that wasn’t guitar based. He got a wind instrument (a flute I think). He had it for 1 day before he recorded with it. He had never played a flute before, not that the flute on the Sarmak – Diycarsh album was technical, but he had something where he could pick any instrument up and do something with it that would compliment his desired atmosphere. In this case he wanted to create a folk atmosphere, so lots of acoustic guitars and some flutes as an interlude were perfect. He could make great atmospheres just using guitars, this is the only time he brought an outside instrument in, why he did I don’t know. It’s possible that because it was something new and he wanted to try using a new instrument, Diycarsh was a good chance to do that. Over all I think it worked well with the atmosphere. It was a very epic 25 minute long track. There is a video for it somewhere…

Taliesin is a brand new project of mine with K. Haikara. It’s the first time I’ve worked with someone who integrates keyboards into there music in such a great way to create the perfect atmospheres. We just finished the new album Wraith Forest which is being released on Taur-Nu-Fuin Records soon. This album is fantasy and dark atmospheres. There’s definitely an ambient feel in there but there’s also guitar solos and early 90’s Black Metal influence from Blaze in the Northern Sky by Darkthrone for example. I’ve wanted to do a project like this for years.


3-TH - The music of LYCANTHROPY'S SPELL is very raw and DEPRESSIVE sounding. One can definitely hear the BURZUM, MOONBLOOD and DARKTHRONE influences as you have stated inspire you. There are indeed some great bands today who capture the raw, cold feeling of how Black Metal was perhaps intended. What are your thoughts on the many off-shoots of this genre? Like additions of clean male and female vocals, keyboard enriched sounds, etc..?

I think Black Metal in some ways has become better, like its evolved and become even darker and grimmer then the original stuff that inspired us. But at the same time it’s evolved into new sub genres of Black Metal. I still love the old Black Metal, but I want to keep my mind open to newer bands that can create the atmospheres better. I think some of it is great and it’s good to hear people who are improving the old Black Metal. I think as long as that atmosphere is being created by the music then how its done does not matter, because for me Black Metal is purely about the atmosphere created. Of course we have bands here like Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir who have taken that Black Metal image and gimmick and applied it to the main stream making money and fame, but of course changing the music in the process to fit the main stream. Even in there early days they were kiddie Black Metal compared to Darkthrone and Burzum. We do not need to waste time on these bands, most of these kids will grow up.

4-TH - What does the band represent, what separates it from the rest?

Lycanthropy’s Spell was straight from Sarmak. The way he wrote came straight from him. He was a real person with real music, not someone who was trying to impersonate other bands. Also his guitar style was very unique, it came from his home.


5-TH - What does Black Metal represent to you? What elements must be present in this musical expression?

Black Metal to me is about atmospheres, created with a blend of things, the sound of the instruments, the way it all works together to give you a single drone sound. Over production that allows you to hear every instrument clearly ruins it for me. There is just no feel to it, it’s dead and empty.


6-TH - whats this shit about THE CHRONICLE bottleg being released without your permission and SAGATAL ep being deleted by sabbath's fire as a result?

Sol Niger (Darkmare, Sheol Productions) Based in Germany and ran by M. When Sarmak died he asked if he could release a compilation called The Chronicles. I said yes, but most people with some common sense would not be stupid enough to release exclusive material from an upcoming EP, with Sabbaths Fire. So Sabbaths Fire refuses to release this vinyl EP because he was promised ‘2 exclusive songs’, one of which was released on The Chronicles. It was accident from M. But some people are fucking idiots. Still haven’t received an apology for his fuck up. To me he is a coward.


7- TH - LYCANTHROPY'S SPELL is pure and unique depressive cold Black Metal. Is there a place for politics in Black Metal in your opinion? Do you think that music is more important than the idea?

Music over politics. It’s good to have some real life issues being addressed but for me music is about the music and not the shit behind it, such as politics, image and an expected attitude. Also music is an escape, how do you escape when the lyrics are about white power? As for my political stance on NSBM, I do not want to get into too many details, but I think like most white people in Europe and America I feel that people from other races are here just to shit on our countries. Most of them do not have any real sense of pride or union. I think in a few more years the real shit will happen, 1 more terrorist attack in Europe and a civil war could break out. Luckerly we have tanks and aircrafts, so I’m not worried. They do not keep the army 90% white for no reason.


8-TH - There are some rumours that SARMAK died from drugs, suicide ect... give us the real truth?

Sarmak died of a heart condition. His death was natural. What can you expect on the internet? I didn’t actually know myself how he died into a few months afterwards. A friend told me that someone was posting bull shit under my name, but I do not post on forums under the name Inferis, ever.


9-TH - what is your opinion about modern black metal bands "internet heroes (elites) " and fag labels?

I think modern Black Metal, I.E ‘progressive’ Black Metal is complete bull shit. It’s in most cases replacing the atmosphere with skill on instruments. If I want to hear that shit I’ll put an album on dedicated to progressive music, otherwise I want rich atmospheres in my Black Metal. I don’t tend to concern myself with things outside of what I like, after all why would I care if it’s not directly effecting me? So far the people I’ve spoken to who appreciate my projects aren’t idiots. As for Internet Heroes, Elites etc. These people are so caught up in the shit, they read into the details so much, they also think they are smart and above everyone. Yet they do this from behind there PC. PC warriors, in person most of them are shy. I’d have more respect for them if they got up on stage in front of an audience of Black Metallers and told them what they should and shouldn’t like.


10- TH - What is your opinion about misanthropy? What do you think about people who hate others and try to isolate from them?

Solitude and hate. People have there own reasons, let those reasons be there own


11- TH - This coming LYCANTHROPY'S SPELL "Forest of Misanthropy” album pro CD is a mixture of a rare old LS and newer LS with a MOONBLOOD cover, give us some more information?

It will feature 12 tracks, aprox 75 mins long. It covers everything over the whole discography. It will also include 1 Moonblood cover only released on the Tribute tape limited to 20 copies some time ago. Theres a few other songs from the Tribute tape I will be putting on other releases as bonus tracks in the future. The artwork is being done by Misanthropic Artworks and he will also do the new Lycanthropy’s Spell logo.


12- TH - Your final words to your fans, comrades and enemies worldwide?

шикарный коллектив. очень нравится. атмосфера одиночества просто подаляет человека. когда погружаешся в их музыку не возможно уже выбраться из того гнетущего, злого, безкомпромиссного мира войны.
