Jackal had immediate European and Japanese success with the release of their first album on EMI. Unfortunately, label difficulties dogged the band after that.
Vocalist Brian Rich was replaced in 1996 by Carsten Olsen, but the band immediately became Encore with new bass player Jesper Bang replacing Soren Johansen. Released album ´´Free in Chaos´´ on Japanese Dolphin label in 1997, produced by Eric Greif, who had also produced ´´Vague Visions´´. Although the band recorded additional material with Greif in Copenhagen in 1999, the band folded after Olsen quit to become an airline pilot.
It has been rumoured Brian Rich has since put together a new Jackal, but nothing official.
