In 2002 the first nucleus of OperaNoire was formed at a club
in Milan called Vlad. It's where the city's vampires used to meet.
It was there that Wylliam (guitar) and Franco (former singer)
used to entertain the crowd on Friday and Saturday nights with
acoustic showcases.
After a few months, Fabio (keyboards) joined the band along with
Sara and Beatrice (viola & violin) which gave the band a
gothic-orchestral sound.
In 2003 OperaNoire took part in a theatrical tour with the
experimental theatre of Milan. But by the following year, they left
both residencies although traces of these can still be seen in their
performances. By this time, Wylliam and Fabio were the only two original members
of the band left but they decided it was time to record a demo.
During a performance at Milan's Zoe Club in 2005, OperaNoire was
head-hunted. by Luca Presenti, the man behind Gothic Slam Records.
He signed the band for their debut album "Bad Intent", which was
released in May and distributed around the world.
They toured the CD mostly around Italy's gothic clubs with
a new line-up featuring Marco (bass), Mario (drums) and Wolf (guitar).
The promotional tour ended in 2006 so Wylliam and Fabio could
concentrate on writing new music. They are currently working on
new live shows so look out for them in a town or city near you soon!
