They split up in 1989 but reformed four years later. The group accumulated numerous charting singles and has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. The "first Dokken" was Don, Greg Pecka, and Juan Crouchier, who were around as far back as 1977. Jeff Pilson along with Zakk Wylde and Jason Bonham (his father was in the legendary band Led Zeppelin) performed the songs for Steel Dragon in the movie "Rock Star". The demo version of the song "It's Not Love" appears on the "Hollywood Rocks" Box Set from 2005. The Dokken band split-up in 1989 and Don Dokken formed his solo band, with Mikkey Dee on drums (King Diamond, Motörhead, guest drums in Helloween, Geisha, WWIII), Peter Baltes (Accept) on bass, John Norum (Europe) and Billy White (Watchtower) on guitars, releasing the album "Up From The Ashes" in 1990. George Lynch would form his own band (Lynch Mob) with Mick Brown, releasing some albums.
