To put it short since mid 90`s bm has transformed into more ear friendly music.

Not where it matters.

Black metal wasn't strictly satanic even at the early stages. It's well known, that Burzum had nothing to do with Satanism and even with Paganism on the first 4 albums. It had a pretty abstract concept of darkness. Black metal was created not only as anti-christian movement, it had anti-human concept and some other "anties" from the beginning. The religious context had developed to a major one, but still the ideology had never been that narrow.

Very early bands like Venom, Hellhammer, Samael and Bathory were Satanic. Of course Bathory evolved into Pagan/Viking. Note that bands like Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, Destruction, Death SS, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Possessed etc. inspired BM as well and they were Satanic. Actually the debut of Burzum and ''Aske'' are kinda Satanic but Burzum was more about darkness and Paganism, while Mayhem was more into theistic Satanism.

Black metal artists from the 90s found their inspiration not only in these bands. And actually even not only in metal music.

Yes, for example in classical music, nature, winter, history, literature, mythology, legends, folklore etc. For them both Paganism and Satanism were something cursed and evil, so it's certain why they embraced both in these times. Paganism as a part of our history, tradition, laws of nature while Satanism as an anti-Christian force. Nowadays many bands are into theistic Satanism.

That's true and they are a good band. I actually thought the same and asked this question in moderation discussions in 2017 but nothing happened and my question (and request to remove them from prohibited artists) was ignored and eventually forgotten.
I will try to make them allowed on site, as it should be - I already wrote to admin. And if he agrees, someone (or me) can add all their releases soon in near future, and after that - I'll also gladly create a discography topic for them. smile1.gif

And nothing happened since then.

I find there are way too many mistakes, especially by Discogs, censuring releases of what they think is NSBM. Bands that are not NSBM but accused of being NSBM go under. Many bands have to place "We are not a political band" or similar comments on their releases. There are way too many releases that never get sold because of false censuring.

MA allows Christian metal to be called black metal which for an old man like me makes me cringe every time I see such a release on MA called black metal because for almost 40 years, in my opinion, the main root of black metal's philosophy began from a strong anti-christian philosopy in 1984. Why do we (MA) sometimes isolate NSBM but not christian metal? This seems to be a contradictory ideal of some kind that perhaps we need a commitee to deal with all this on MA and make a public comment on the results to MA/Discogs/EM. I will put my name forward to function on such a committee for MA.

Encyclopaedia Metallum (EM) and MA now put ALL philosophies on their site and no longer add "black metal" which wastes my time, and no doubt others' time when they/we call christian metal black metal.

Humans do suck but we call these contradictory ideals oxymorons that perhaps we can discuss in some MA committee and report on results from many participants about these competing philosophies and make our conclusions known to MA/EM/Discogs.

It's a very good point.
Isn't Christianity intolerant? Christians have killed so many people all around the world, because they were Pagans or unfaithful or accusing them of heresy, witchcraft, Devil worship etc.
So why this doctrine is allowed at all even in metal while NS isn't?
