Icelandic BM is very arguable and sometimes overhyped... Usually they push too hard to be like Deathspell Omega, but this album is great and of course better than their second one. If not the best Icelandic album. Maybe Svartidauði is even one of a very few bands which deserves to be compared to DSO. Others are trying, but can't.

Misþyrming "Söngvar elds og óreiðu".

Last Misþyrming is good too and Sinmara ''Aphotic Womb''. Anyway these three bands are the best from Iceland.

Sinmara's recent outing is meh. Although the first one was solid, yeah. Carpe Noctem also is a solid band.

Yes, first album of Sinmara was much better than the last one. Carpe Noctem, Naðra, Zhrine and maybe some others are good bands, but not the best from Iceland.
Chao (pre-Sinmara) is also noteworthy. Martröð and Rebirth of Nefast too, but those bands can't be considered as purely Icelandic.

Диск оказался в моей копилке с существенным опозданием, но все также производит залипательное впечатление и хавает мозг.
Медитативная работа с гипнотическим эффектом. Плотный атакующий обволакивающий звук, бесчеловечная удушающая атмосфера за счет вокальных техник и нахлынивающих диссонансов. Субъективно длительность треков в конкретном случае способствует погружению и восприятию не мешает. Почти час проносится на одном дыхании без малейшего чувства утомления.
