Yes, this totalitarian non-human approach is one of the traits of the so called Abrahamic Religions. Jainism, Buddhism, Zarathustrism and some other religions do have a much more humanistic approach.

Ну и напоследок байка от отца моего друга, к чему толерантность приводит. В 60–70-х годах прошлого века слова «толерантность» ещё не знали. Был у них в лётном училище представитель горских народов. Талантами не особо страдал. Постоянно ныл, что его зажимают по национальному признаку. Не знаю, насколько сильно это нытьё двигало его карьеру, но наверняка без него он бы продвигался медленнее по лестнице и, возможно, не стал бы генералом.
