aesteticvice,

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/20.gif) |

Another one;
This band is quite thrashy actually, you can hear the infamous "Bay Area" influence all over it. Particulary in their vocal delivery. They really remind me of old Testament, Forbiden, Exudous, etc... but with the funk up front. mmmmm actually I'm not sure if this belongs here, is more thrash then fusion. Have a listen to it, see what you think. 24-7 Spyz (1992) Funk/Fusion/Metal Strength In Numbers ________ On a different note, I'm currently sorting out 30+ albums to upload (Most are flacs) and theres quite a few that might qualify for this threath. But it's over 3GB in total, so give me a bit of time to sort it all out. Here's a list of what's coming: 6 Hidria Spacefolk albums (FINLAND) 18 Ozric Tentacles albums (UK) 1 Circle album (FINLAND) 2 Ahkmed albums (AUSTRALIA) 1 Mammatus albums (USA) 10 Porcupine Tree albums (UK) 1 Giant Hogweed Orchestra album (FINLAND) I'm still waiting on a few more to came throught, admitedly most of those are in the psychedelic space-rock genre, but I think some qualify for the Fusion threath. StabWound,
Thank you! I'll be waiting. 'Porcupine Tree' is partly uploaded (1999-2007). But the most fusion album of PT (1998) is still waiting for its chance. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif) Added: 24-7 Spyz. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/9.gif) |

There are many more Porcupine Tree releases, many more and much confusion to follow as they are mix of live albums released inbetween studio albums, remasters of studio and live albums, expanded re-releases of both studio and live albums and a couple of compilations that mix a few live bootleg tracks in for good measure.... lolol it gets confusing....
Some of the Porcupine Tree not uploaded to MetalArea.org and that I have in FLAC format are; --Lightbulb Sun (2000) --Staircase Infinities (1995) --Metanoia (1998) <<---- Is the one you are after? (My personal favourite of theirs and yes the most 'fusion' release from them) --Stupid Dream (1999) <<--- Original recording, this had no need to be remastered at all, it was remastered in 2006 for marketing and anti-piracy purposes. --On the Sunday of Life(1991) --Voyage 34: The Complete Trip (2000) --The Sky Moves Sideways (original US version) (1995) --Lazarus EP (2005) --Signify (1996) [2CD Edition, Remastered 2004] <<--- My least favourite of their work, it's practically a pop album. --Up The Downstair (1993) [2CD, Reissue 2004] --Stars Die [Single] (1994) Steve Wilson remasters thier albums, in an attempt to generate renewed interest in the bands back catalogue and also to try to deter illegal downloads of their work, by enticing listeners with the word 'remastered' and offers a few extra tracks. Personally I'm of the very strong opinion that the original release is the only release to be considered. Remastering often changes the feel of an album and if you were particulary attached to the original recording, remasters can often ruin the experience. To remaster Procupine Tree makes no sense, these fellows are masters of their choosen art and it's a bit hard to believe that the original recordings wich are of very high production values in themselves need to be remastered for a mordern audience. I think if an album is to be remastered from the original master tapes, then it needs to be remasterd in audiophile quality and nothing less. Having said that, I won't be posting remasters unless it is the only version of a particular album that I can find. OK I will start uploading these releases. ______________________________________ Here is a pretty good listing of everything they have done: Studio albums: On the Sunday of Life · Up the Downstair · The Sky Moves Sideways · Signify · Stupid Dream · Lightbulb Sun · In Absentia · Deadwing · Fear of a Blank Planet · The Incident EPs: Voyage 34: Remixes · Staircase Infinities · Moonloop EP · Nil Recurring Live albums: Spiral Circus · Coma Divine - Recorded Live in Rome · Coma Divine II · XM · Warszawa · XMII · Rockpalast · We Lost the Skyline · Ilosaarirock Compilations: Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape · Voyage 34: The Complete Trip · Insignificance · Metanoia · Recordings · Stars Die: The Delerium Years 1991-1997 Singles: "Voyage 34" · "Waiting" · "Piano Lessons" · "Stranger by the Minute" · "Pure Narcotic" · "Four Chords That Made a Million" · "Shesmovedon" · "Shallow" · "Lazarus" · "Fear of a Blank Planet" DVD: Arriving Somewhere...
