Norwegian dealers in extreme metal Enthral have set March 19th as the release date of their fourth full-length album “Obtenebrate”, their first yet reportedly monumental effort since 2003′s “Subterranean Movement” (not counting the 2010 mini-album “Spiteful Dirges”).

“‘Obtenebrate’ is like a malign force, pullling you in and leaving you smothered in its wake. Clocking in at nearly 70 minutes, yet feeling like 50, it is as technically adept, imaginative and diverse as it is brutal, intense and dark. Death, black or dark metal – Enthral encompass these and more. Having subsisted in the Norwegian black metal underground since 1995, yet never really getting past the ‘critics favourite; mark, it is about time people take notice of Enthral. Judging by this album anything else seems downright unlikely”, reads the PR sheet.

Мы закончили запись своего уже пятого по счёту альбома, который получил название "Мудрiсть Столiть"("Wisdom of Centuries") и в ближайшее время на студии Blacklight будут закончены работы над его сведением и мастерингом.
На новом альбоме мы экспериментировали со звучанием и атмосферой, используя нетрадиционные для metal музыки этнические инструменты и, помимо этого, "Мудрiсть Столiть" стал первым в дискографии группы украиноязычным альбомом. Его лирическая концепция обращается к относительно недавней истории нашей Родины, тяжёлым и печальным временам 20-х годов прошлого столетия.
Запись была начата на студии Blacklight в сентябре 2011 года, отдельные партии инструментов были записаны на студиях Oriana Stronghold Forge и Nightmarestudio. Альбом содержит традиционно 8 треков, общей продолжительностью порядка 40 минут.

Von is back. Andrew Markuszewski is now a member of the official new line-up along with Charlie Fell who has just finished up recording drums in Chicago at Wall to Wall with Andrew Ragin for two official full-lengths in route to be released this year through Von Records. Aamonael is currently in the deserts of America and will be uniting with Venien in a few days to rehearse and do some tracking.
This is not a joke. Von really will be back amongst the metal masses undoubtedly crushing all dispute and harsh criticism during these last few years to regain its rightful throne. Take my word for it. Diehards will once again rejoice before Von’s glory. Von will also be performing selective live showcases and rituals later this year.

Nachtmystium enters Engine Studios February 20th to record a new full-length due out on Century Media sometime this year.

The new Lord Mantis record “Pervertor” will be out through Candelight Records in the USA on March 12th, 2012. Here is a glimpse into the sinister artwork Justin Bartlett has contributed to the suffocating and unwholesome release destined to inspire a few bad seeds.

The cover artwork for "Téras", the sixth album from Swedish black metallers NAGLFAR

Responsible for the artwork is Niklas Sundin of DARK TRANQUILLITY, who has previously worked with such bands as IN FLAMES, ARCH ENEMY and AT THE GATES. The album cover only shows a part of the overall motif, which is going to be shown in its entirety with the release of the new CD.

Due on March 27 via Century Media Records (one day earlier internationally), "Téras" will include the following nine tracks:

NOKTURNAL HELLSTORM, the black metal project led by veteran bassist Danny Lilker (BRUTAL TRUTH, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, ANTHRAX), has released its debut album via United Underground (a division of Sevared Records). Produced and engineered by Lilker and mastered by Doug White at Watchmen Studios, the self-titled CD features 41 minutes of "ripping Scandinavian-inspired black metal," according to a press release.

When asked how NOKTURNAL HELLSTORM came together, Lilker told Decibel magazine, "In a way, it's similar to how BRUTAL TRUTH began way back in '90, with me working in my home studio. I wrote the music, programmed the drums and played all the instruments (no vocals, though). I asked Ron from CRUCIFIST to write and record vocals for this project, but before he got around to it, the band came to life when I realized that some of my friends from the Rochester melodic black/death band SARCOUS would be able to play this material. So, we took the three songs I had written — one of which is 'Naan Kadavul' — wrote another song together, and recorded what we had. That's the essence of how the band started, and as far as the impetus; well some may remember a black metal band I played in called HEMLOCK from New York City in the mid-to-late '90s. We broke up in 2001 and I relocated to Rochester a year after that. Although CRUCIFIST embodies elements of black metal, I wanted to play pure black metal again. I was quite inspired by the early '90s Scandinavian black metal scene, which re-lit the fire that had gone out when the original black metal bands from the '80s lost their direction or broke up. While a lot of people were simply drawn to the more sensational aspects of this scene and lost interest when all that died down, I still was drawn to the music, so NOKTURNAL HELLSTORM is, for me anyway, an homage to that era. We are not reinventing the wheel here."

MASTERS HAMMER - 2012 - VRACEJTE KONVE NA MISTO

For some incidental reasons in autumn 2011 I couldn't fly again to our favourite sunny beach in southern India, I'm stuck here in Bohemian frozen wilderness for the whole winter. I enjoyed the fading sun, admired hoarfrost on my windows and crooky branches of elderly oaks covered by new snow. Impressive grey silence and loneliness. Brave rednecks in local pub are at present the only specimen of civilization. My time is split between book illustration job and musicwriting. When the flaming throat of the iron stove in my studio is shining and roe deers are passing outside, I'm composing songs inspired by winter landscape at night and by graveyard typography. When walking on cemeteries, I've noticed several times a strange inscription which I found appropriate as title for this album: "Vracejte konve na místo" (Put Watering Cans Back in Place).
